Kirsten is a womenswear designer specialising in lifestyle wear and outerwear for the renowned brands Reebok and Hunter. Her design process blends comprehensive trend analysis with close collaboration across multiple teams to ensure each collection aligns with the brand's vision while meeting the diverse needs of their customers. Partnering with garment tech and product development teams, Kirsten crafts womenswear ranges that effortlessly combine fashion-forward aesthetics with the technical demands of active, on-the-go lifestyles.

PIE 2 BRANDS

​As a designer for the notable brands UCLA, G-Star Raw and Lyle & Scott, Kirsten is responsible for creating loungewear, accessories, and streetwear ranges. Her process is rooted in thorough trend research and close collaboration with the sales team to ensure each range meets the diverse needs of their customers. Kirsten manages the development and execution of the collections, with a keen focus on fabrics, trims, and print execution.

(2019 - 2023) FASHION DESIGNER / MERCHANDISER

STUDIO 88

Kirsten designed across multiple brands for South Africa's leading sportswear retailer, Studio 88. The two main brands she was responsible for were Ellesse and Volkswagen. Ellesse holds a prominent position within South Africa, recognized for its appeal to the fashion-conscious youth demographic. Kirsten embraced this role wholeheartedly by conducting in-depth market research and staying attuned to evolving trends. She designed styles that ignited considerable hype within the industry.

Kirsten created Volkswagen apparel and accessories ranges by collaborating closely with the team in Germany. She designed attentively with an emphasis on historical accuracy. Kirsten's role at Studio 88 was marked by consistently designing ranges that connected with their audience, leading to sell-outs and widespread popularity. Some of the other brands she worked on included the locally-loved DMD, Nikos, Grey Wolf and London Republic.

(2018 - 2019) FASHION GRAPHIC DESIGNER

PEP

Working at PEP was Kirsten's first full-time role after graduating from fashion school. Collaborating with fashion buyers and trend analysts, she honed her skills in Illustrator and Photoshop, crafting tech packs, prints, and packaging according to project briefs. Fascinated by trends, Kirsten often assisted the trend analysts by creating concept boards and contributing to trend presentations.

(2017) FASHION OFFICE INTERN

MARIE CLAIRE MAGAZINE

During her graduate year, Kirsten interned as a fashion assistant at Marie Claire. She embraced the multifaceted role that introduced her to the world of fashion. From managing the fashion closet to sourcing products and providing styling assistance on cover shoots, each task fueled her ambition to work in fashion.
